AMD Announces CPU Price Cuts |

On July 9th, AMD announce another round of Desktop CPU price cut.The price cut announced on Monday applied to AMD dual-core Athlon FX X2 and Athlon 64 FX 70, which the price of former one fell below $200.
AMD Athlon FX 6000+, the best performer of the Athlon FX cpu, now retails for about $178 while the lower end 4200+ and 4000+ falling to $89 and $73 respectively.
Now the AMD Athlon 64 FX-70, Athlon 64 FX-74 and Athlon 64 FX-72 are priced at exactly the same level: $599. This is a significant drop seeing previously $799 Athlon 64 FX-74. The new pricing structure may be an attempt to shed excess inventory before Barcelona is released.
